This novel has a decent plot, some well etched characters, and quite a dose of philosophy and psychoanalysis. These last items are what made me cut down my rating by a star. For such a short novel, at just 173 pages, it has a lot of superfluous writing that made me drift off more than once.
The author, who is a famous philosopher, would do well to separate his novels from his philosophical works if he wishes to succeed with the former.
