I'm so annoyed that this book was mishandled by someone who borrowed my car and it got so wet that the red pigment of the boards covering leaked inside and destroyed many of the pages. I destroyed the whole book and have consequently lost a very good reference book. Each President's life (up to Nixon) was presented as chronological factoids. It was fun to read while I still could. Dipped into it frequently and was frequently surprised by what happened and when.
Not only was this book a great show more reference summing up each President's life, but it was also a great potted history of the United States presented without much of the political shenanigans that made us who we are. show less
