For all that it made me laugh and also cry, the book was good. I looked forward to picking it up and spending some time with it, with Michael, and with his assorted animals. There were times when I thought he was trying too hard to be humorous, and other times when his British references went right past me, but overall the book was fun and I found him a witty and thoughtful expat.
Very funny , a jaded, city, English, book - reviewer decides to migrate to (very) rural France. He buys a dilapidated half renovated farm house and tries to fit in with the community. He tells of his adventures with a cat , assorted hens and a gang of rare breed sheep.
Full of anecdotes about rural life, the difference between the French and English social mores, flying and general gentle mayhem.
Great fun.
