Dr John Edward Harvey AO holds a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Education from the University of Melbourne and a Doctorate of Business Leadership from Charles Sturt University. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Federation University Australia and a University Professorial Fellow at Charles Darwin University. He was a member of a number of IBM Boards including IBM Global Finance Australia Limited, IBM A/NZ Holdings Pty Ltd and IBM Australia Limited; has undertaken international assignments to the United States and to Japan and held numerous executive positions including State Manager, Western Australia, Regional Director of Sales in Australia and Managing Director of IBM New Zealand. He is Chairman of RhinoScience, a pharmaceutical company and a Director of Supervised Investments Australia, an investment company which manages an international equities fund and an debt securities fund and ATMC Chairman. He has served on a wide range of arts, sporting and community boards including Chairman of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, 1995–1999, the National Council of Opera Australia, 1996-2005, Deputy Chairman of the Volunteer Centre of NSW, 1990–1997, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Young Achievement Australia, 1994–2000, Chairman of the National Basketball League, 2001–2003 and has been Chairman of the Council of the Australian Technical Management College from 2009. In 2000 he was the recipient of a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to the arts, the community and business enterprise education for youth. In 2007 he received the degree of Doctor of the University honoris causa from the University of Ballarat for his contribution to business and the IT industry in Australia. He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the information technology industry particularly through developing partnerships with Government and educational institutions and to the community in 2010. - Nationality
