I was pleased when this book came up as a choice for me on Amazon Vine as not only am I interested in coaching but I’m taking part in some training relating to it at work. The book is not for those trying to find out about coaching; it is definitely aimed at anyone already with a subject knowledge or in my position whereby you are undertaking a course or some training.
The book is well-ordered in three parts. Part One is called orientation and describes the key issues in coaching as well as show more an explanation of the STEPPPA Model. This model is the focus of the book and is built around Subject focus, Target focus, Emotional focus, Perception focus, Plan focus, Pace and Act focus. Part Two looks at coaching tools; this includes the foundations of coaching and a detailed analysis of STEPPPA. Part Three is about further coaching resources and closing thoughts.
Each part and specific chapter is easy to read and the book is easy to navigate. As someone who is about to use coaching techniques where I work it is going to be referred to time and time again. show less
