Hey look, IF we were to have a 6 degree rise in temperatures by 2084, then maybe this COULD happen. I however don't think that it would be the end of global civilization for one simple reason., the GC is self-aware enough to want to survive and it needs energy to survive. Therefore, it denies global climate change BUT prepares for it. We are pawns in the game and ultimately, not too important.

I respect what the author was trying to do but World War Z this is not.
