After working at the Ford Motor Company, Geoff Smith spent a large part of his career at the Ashridge Business School. In addition to his teaching he was a member of the management committee for much of his time, first with responsibility for the client relations activity and subsequently as show more Director of Studies. In the late 1980s he was seconded to The Thomson Corporation for two years. He worked for professional publishing companies and contributed to policy making and planning at director level as well as managing a number of marketing projects.
