Deb Parks-Satterfield

Deb Parks-Satterfield is an American-born multi-disciplinary artist, performer, and writer based in Edmonton, Canada. Originally from Milwaukee, she was a central figure in the Seattle queer performance scene in the early 1990s. A prominent figure in the Alberta arts scene, she is the founder of L'UniThéâtre's C'est quoi ton histoire ? project and has a long history of creating works that explore the intersections of race, gender, and aging. Known for her lyrical and visceral style, her work frequently intersects Black queer identity, social advocacy, and the resilient human spirit .She is a past winner of the Edmonton Artist Trust Fund award.
