I just loved this book. I used it my COUNT ON IT class and the kids went wild. They loved seeing the layers of the flaps and what was underneath. The kids were so excited that they counted all the way to 100. It was an experience of learning and fun, joined!
The book contains themes and each theme has ten flaps that reveals fun and interesting things.
Under the sea
On a busy city street
Into the forest
Within a garden
To the land of dinosaurs
Around a dessert shop
Along a beach
Exploring the show more jungle
Beyond a barnyard
Investigating a classroom
It was so fun teaching not only counting, but also groups of 5 and 10. This is a great an unique learning tool. My kids also loved it. I rate it 5 stars. My only warning is that the kids will need to be gentle with the flaps, so that they don't get torn off. This book will provide great conversation between parent and child.

Folks will do almost anything if they're happy (and they know it)--from flapping their wings to touching their toes. At least they will in David A. Carter's pop-up version of the popular play song. Preschoolers will join in with glee, singing, "If you're happy and you know it...," while they help the playful animal characters clap their hands, wag their tails, and wink their eyes. Children pull simple tabs to animate the brightly hued cut-paper cat, dog, skunk, chicken, owl, and mouse. On show more the last page, all six animals pop up to "shout hooray" in a dramatic display of Carter's paper engineering flair. Musical notation for the song appears on the back cover. show less
Pop-up figures show what would happen if pigs could fly, worms leap, bulls wiggle their horns, ducks dance, fish blink, and butterflies snore. This is a good silly, fun read-aloud.
A great book from a great song. Children love singing and dancing along with this one. They also love pulling the tabs to make the animals do the different moves.
