The strength of this very readable book is that for the newcomer, Jackson touches almost every conceivable topic for a Christian feeling called to help in schools in some way, including supporting topics like "working in a team", "being organised", "dealing with a death". The weakness is that no topic is covered in depth, and not all have suggestions for more in-depth reading.

However, Jackson does come across as passionate about schools work, and getting more Christians involved with it, and show more he includes some great stories and testimonies of why its important. The longer sections in the first half of the book that deal with approaching schools, taking assemblies, and getting churches involved all have good material born out of his experience, but I was left wanting to have more material there, and less on the very brief treatments later in the book. show less
