The classic Christmas carol in which the singer is gifted a series of twelve extraordinary gifts is retold in this charming picture book from illustrator John Speirs, complete with twelve punch-out ornaments which can be hung on the Christmas tree. The artwork depicts an eighteenth-century aristocratic fairy-tale world, with a lord and lady, courtiers and servants...

I stumbled across this version of The Twelve Days of Christmas at a large book sale last spring, and immediately snatched it show more up. Not only do I have a fondness for picture book presentations of Christmas carols and songs, I appreciate these vintage interactive titles, and was delighted to see that all the ornaments in this copy were intact. The illustrations are not the finest ever done for this carol—personal favorites, in that respect, are the versions done by Laurel Long and Jane Ray—but they have charm, and the book as whole was delightful. I'd recommend this one to picture book readers who enjoy Christmas carol picture books, with the proviso that, as the book is out of print and must thereby be obtained used, that potential readers try to find copies that still have the ornaments, as once they are punched out, pieces of the pages will be missing. show less
While it says "classic", I only knew like two of them. Good resource for people who haven't had a lot of kid exposure and need little quick activities.
This is an Easter hunt with rebus pictures. Enjoy looking for hidden eggs, bunnies, chicks, and more.
