This collection is fun, one might even call it "Fun City" -- except, of-course, there's no pretence of representing Greenwich Village, or for that matter, the good ol' VILLAGE VOICE, before it became a nationa phenomenon, and frankly a dull one (setting the the sorry precedent for ROLLING STONE). If you're pressed for time, read the portrait-piece on Edgard Varese and David McReynolds' loveable "Hipsters' General Strike".
