This is a pretty good introductory book on green wood turning. He shows shrinkage clearly, although he doesn't get into all its effects or show any tables with specific species. He does show how to cut up a log, where to expect drying stresses & changes. He demonstrates turning with & without a natural edge, too.
If you're new to turning, this is a good book to buy.
If you're new to turning green wood or have been doing it, it's worth getting this book out of the library to look at. There show more were a couple of techniques he used that interested me & were worth trying. show less
