Decently written memoir by a woman sent to a harsh Irish 'industrial school' run by a particularly unpleasant and abusive group of nuns.
Very tragic but I now realise why I don't get on with biographies. I am sure this is how ms O'Malley remembers it and awful things happened to her but where is the evidence - the paperwork , the other voices, and for me most important, the numbers.
Good of its genre.

Childhood Interrupted: Growing up under the cruel regime of the Sisters of Mercy by Kathleen O'Malley
A very sad but thought provoking read. I just couldn't put it down
