Short biography
Alexandra Tolstaya was the daughter of Leo and Sophia Tolstoy, whose information is included here in CK. She was imprisoned by the Communists but later installed as the director of the Tolstoy museum in Yasnaya Polyana. She left Russia in 1929 for the USA, where she helped create the Tolstoy Foundation. Do not combine or confuse her with contemporary British travel writer Countess Alexandra Tolstoy (b. 1974), author of The Last Secrets of the Silk Road.
