Jethro Bithell (1) (1878–1962)

A serious anthology, with an academic introduction, of poems in German (without translation). First published in 1941, it covers all poetry between the dates mentioned, including dissident poetry from the Nazi era and - in the interests of balance, or historical accuracy, Nazi lyricists who were part of Goebbels' propoganda machine. I have not seen post-war editions of this book to know if the Nazi poets were omitted from later editions.
