This book could be used an independent read for second through fourth graders. This book is readable for these grade levels and puts this part of Lincoln's life in an understandable and interesting way. It add a lot of different interesting facts to bring Lincoln to be relatable. This book takes a small part of the life and presidency of Lincoln, but gives a good picture of who Lincoln is and the impact he had. The students can read and understand the book. This book can be used for a show more reference about Lincoln. It could be used as a research book for a paper about Lincoln. Since the book narrows on a specific part the students are able to get details about his life and understand Lincoln as a person. The book also used rhetorical questions to relay information and keep it interesting. The students could learn about rhetorical questions and the purposes of using them as well as other figurative language. show less
