Prior to the publication of "Rough Stone Rolling," this was one of my favorite biographies of Joseph Smith. On a cross-country road trip many years ago, we managed to read this most of this book aloud to a car full of our kids. It managed to captivate their interest and hold their attention. Considering it's scholarly bent and the normal attention span of my children, this is the most ringing endorsement I can possibly imagine.
Good for reading to younger students or for beginner readers. Helps teach children that it is good to help people, even if you are needing to be somewhere else. Teaches them that it is always good to be helpful in whatever situation
