- Hall founded the James Branch Cabell Society (as The Fellowship of the Silver Stallion) in 1965, and was the first editor of "Kalki: Studies in James Branch Cabell". When James Blish took over as Kalki editor in 1968, Hall 'retired' into the position of Society president.
