This book presents as an action thriller involving murder, intrigue and machinations at the highest level of government. Unfortunately, it falls a little short of its goal and comes off as a little bland. It's not terrible, but it failed to get me to care about the characters or the numerous goings-on. The last third of the book picks up the pace and the interest level somewhat, but by then it's too little, too late.

The story is good but the book would have been better at the hands of a more polished author. It is choppy and told in bursts of information followed by slow periods.

Having read the cover I was slightly concerned how the story was going to develop, but the plot moved quickly and kept me captivated.
