The cover and internal appearance of this suggests that it's a lightweight, even childish, picture book with little content. However the choice of authors reveal that this is really a very good historical sequence showing the development of locomotives through a post-steam "modern" era from about 1900. The diesel and electric, even gas turbine, locos included are well chosen to show the history of technical development, even a few obscure dead-ends.
Zahlreiche Lokomotiven werden, meist auf einer Doppelseite, mit Bildern versehen vorgestellt.
