I really found the synopsis of this book to be very intriguing and thus the reason I wanted to read it. So glad that I took a chance on this book. It was a sweet surprise in a very good way. The blend of mythically with present day was lovely. The dynamics between Thea and Kit worked really well together. Kit was my favorite. He had a witty side to him, which I guess you could say comes from the fact that he is the "fool". Also, Kit interacting with the real world and discovering new things show more was entertaining.
I don't know much about tarot cards but after reading this book, I am curious to learn more about tarot cards. As you can expect that this book being a fantasy romance that Thea and Kit do start a romantic relationship. Yet, it did not happen until much later into the story. I appreciated this as it made it more believable and real this way. Wow, though as the steamy level is spicy.
This was a fast read for me. I look forward to reading book two in this series. Don't let the word "fool" trick you in the title of this book as author, Dana Fox weaves a lovely story with witty, engaging characters with The Fool and the Sparrow!
Lastly to quote Thea:
The Fool was her future.
And this Sparrow was free. show less

This book is for people who are great at drawing and already have experience with watercolor. Every piece involves drawing a meticulous outline of the animal (with a completed reference photo, but no instructions) and then reading a long list of painting instructions without any visual steps. The books that I actually find helpful have step-by-step photos, which is something that is very clearly lacking from this series. Even so, it could be massively improved if there were instructions on show more how to draw the basic subjects, but that is also missing. I read through the entire book and will try some of the animals, but I will mostly be using it as inspiration rather than advice.
I borrowed this from the library, but felt compelled to share this review because I would have been disappointed had I bought it. show less

I read the first book in this series and really enjoyed it a lot. While, this book is part of this interconnected series, it can be read as a standalone book. Magos has a bit of a joking side to him, although, it his brother was funnier.
Where the first book is more of a lighter read, this one had more serious vibes. So, I can't fault Magos for not being so cheery. He was good for Lux. They both were just what the other needed. Lux was dealing with the death of a friend, and it was really show more consuming her.
The romance between Magos and Lux was a very slow burn one, but it felt very emotional as well. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. show less

Vivid memories of watching Doctor Who in my early childhood. Remembering hiding under a blanket at times, when the Cybermen or Daleks were on the rampage. I drifted away from the Who universe in adulthood, busy chasing the career I chose. But then came roaring back to the Universe with the seasons of Donna Noble, Jack Harkness and Martha Jones.
I'm amazed at the number of "companions" that Dr Who has had over the years. So many that I did not know about. The author has included information show more about all of them. The years that they appeared on the show, a little biography about them, and sometimes brief interviews with them.
It's all presented in a nice, enjoyable format. Easily readable.
I am looking forward to returning into the Who universe, and catching up with some of these characters I missed.
Absolutely a must have for any Who fan! show less
