not an uplifting read

With a simple style reminiscent of Concrete and and maybe a little Ghost World, the focus is much more on the message. I'm not quite sure what to say about this. I enjoyed parts yet was completely bored by the disillusioned Angry Young Man. Am I really so jaded that I cannot even connect with the comic form of a morally fluid politically struggling man losing himself. Perhaps I might enjoy this more when in a better mood. As it is I am in the middle of Holiday show more overworking and am a bit too tired to focus on anything or anyone else. Hmmm. Maybe that does connect to this book a little. show less

Originally read 23 years earlier in serialised form, but never finished. Very satisfying to finally conclude the tale.
