A collection of stories where the ghost itself is a child with Doctor Asimov providing an introduction to the anthology itself and a line about the stories themselves. The stories range from the outright creepy to comic (a bit) and beautiful in their way with the best managing to mix all three into a great whole. The best in my opinion were Madeleine L'Engle - 'Poor Little Saturday', where both the ghost and the protagonist were young people, and 'A Pair of Hands' by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch show more (never heard of him) where a young lady takes up residence in an isolated cottage that came with more than the live in housekeeper.
The rest of the was pretty forgettable though Rod Serling's contribution was quite unusual (mainly as an adaption of a 'Twilight Zone' script than because of any literary merit).
Of the contributors to this anthology, I'd only ever heard of Madeleine L'Engle and Rod Serling, and, as far as I am aware, these are the only examples of their output I have read. show less
