Identified as a parody, this book is essentially a fresh-out-of-college age knock-off of the more famous ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go!’ by Dr. Seuss. I give it merit that it has funny moments and some serious doses of reality check – overworked, startups mentality, starting from the bottom, failing and restarting, and yes, those dreadful meetings! Admittedly, some of those funny moments are painful as they truly reflect reality. The book is ultimately written in an uplifting manner, show more particularly noteworthy is when the child proudly signs the check when he treats his parents for a meal for the first time. (Oops, I guess that should have been a spoiler alert.) The art is also reminiscent of Dr. Seuss’ creations, which to me, gives it more of that knock-off feeling than a parody feeling, especially the non-human creatures and the bright colors commonly used in Dr. Seuss books. I read this end-to-end in minutes standing in a Fireworks store, ultimately deciding my bookshelf space is too precious to take this one home. show less
