Beauty and the Curse by K M Fawcett and Cathy Tully
Fairytale retelling novella. Adult content.
Anabel Charming should have had the world at her Beck and call. Instead she’s been cursed to grow uglier with each passing year. If she doesn’t have sex before her 21st birthday, she will permanently be humpbacked, pockmarked and two different length legs. She’s tried to pay possible suitors, but they just end up being mean and cruel. When handsome Chase Singleton shows up to retrieve his show more grandmother’s lost talisman, Anabel tries one more time to trade what he wants for sex with her. Chase isn’t unduly shocked by Anabel. His grandmother too has a spine curvature and his work as a physical therapist has taught him that everyone has issues.
But fate can be cruel and tricky and Anabel may not get exactly what she wants.
An adult retelling. Be careful what you wish for. (The angsty parts.)
It’s also a bit of comedy, aka, a talking dragon, that gets life experience from the movie Grease, and is happy to pass it along to Anabel, who is just as naive and willing to give it a try.
Fairytale sweet ending if a bit more real life than a storybook.
