Until he sailed off to the South Pacific in 1973, Herb Payson was a jazz pianist on the Los Angeles nightclub circuit. He is the author of Blown Away and Advice to the Sealorn, and he and his wife Nancy--well-known habitues of the many ports of call between California and New Zealand--have been show more regular contributors to SAIL magazine for 25 years. show less
