About the Author
The author John N. Morris, is the grandson of Gloucester doryman Steve Olsson who perished in 1935 while trawling for halibut. The loss inspired Morris to research, and then write, this comprehensive history which is at once a tribute to his grandfather and the town dial nurtured them both.
