Cute book that covers oil spills and penguin conservation, but from a fun penguin perspective. Kiddos didn't take to it as well as other penguin stories. I do recommend it for conservation and nature-loving kids.
Artwork in pencil, ink, handmade textures, and digital media shows the stark little black and white penguins with their orange beaks and feet surrounded by ice and blue sea the color of sky. (The endpapers are also beautiful, pale purple and white sweater-pattern.) The story is about penguins who wear sweaters after an oil spill, so it's cute (penguins in sweaters) but horrifying (oil spill ruining natural environments). There is an author's note on the last page.
Love what they did to turn the cute photos online into something more important. Good authors note. The sweaters depicted are amusing, particularly the one with the penguin books logo.

Oil pollution, posing penguins in sweaters, and the real story (told at the end of the book).
