Excellent account of service on the Western Front in WW1. Author was the Regimental Doctor for the Royal Welch Fusiliers throughout the war. He mentions Robert Graves and Siegfried Sassoon.
The history of an British infantry battalion in World War One. Stark in the language of the day, it was of a time when death was constantly all around.
The book is in the form of a diary and mostly is of short excerpts. Most are very brief and to the point. The day's battle and casualty rates are featured.
