This copy was evidently loaned by Lamb to Samuel Taylor Coleridge, who after reading it, made his comments on the work in writing on the inside of the cover, the verso of the engraved title-page, and on the margins of four other pages; with two exceptions the notes are quite extensive...A portion reads, "It is exceedingly entertaining to observe how absolutely & integrally J. Reynolds' heart and soul are swallowed up in the notion 'Murder' and in all other crimes only as far as they lead to show more murder... I like John Reynolds. S.T.C." A.
