All at once postmodern, highly literate, shrewd and playful, Lofting is a marvelous transcription of a woman's sexual decisions and sexual adventure that begins in an internet chatroom. Very twenty-first century. Little of the plot is telegraphed, and therefore the surprises are all the more delicious. Taken in small bites at first, I was glued to the story and the narrative for the final 120 pages. Strongly recommended for lovers of quirk, sex, and hippopotomonstrosesquipedalia.
