Design, When Everybody Designs: An Introduction to Design for Social Innovation (Design Thinking, Design Theory) by Ezio Manzini
Design is increasingly moving beyond disciplinary boundaries to address contemporary challenges in society, demanding collaboration not only between different design professions but also with future users and other groups of stakeholders. Manzini frames this development as design for social innovation, and does an excellent job of tying together many existing ideas in co-design, participatory design and societal innovation processes. The book indicates a hopeful way forward for humanity and show more points to some of the ways in which design can, and should, play a role in such transformative processes. show less
This is the book that opened my mind, when I started workin on Industrial Design, it was definitely one of the most revolutionary books written in that period.
