Look, sometimes I get mixed feelings about this series since the main characters both just keep going around in circles. But there are moments when I like how Akira sometimes faces Mizuki head on and challenges her immediate assumptions that he is just playing around with her feelings 🤔
This was very silly. The plot and main characters were very predictable, but her parents were just hilarious. That little house! Goodness.
From a professional standpoint, this would be tough to recommend at the library: the main characters are an incubus and a high schooler, for goodness' sake. I wouldn't have batted an eye reading this as a teenager, but as an adult who works with teens I can't help but cringe. (For what it's worth, I have similar feelings about the relationship dynamic in show more the Twilight books.) Perhaps there's a longer conversation to be had about cultural norms and expectations, but Goodreads is not the platform. show less

I loved this Manga all the way to the end. It is engaging and definitely unique, so it gets at least 3 stars. But the final scene of volume 1 left me disgusted and unsettled. I understand the intent was to be shocking and intense, but I can't condone the acts that are committed even in a story. The implication is that it is justified because of the victim's own attempt to victimize another.
Since the violent act is a cliffhanger I'll probably read at least volume 2. But I don't know that I show more can go beyond. I definitely won't feel comfortable suggesting this manga to any teen patron of any age or disposition. show less

I would recommend this book to mature fans of Ouran High School Host Club or Tenshi Ja Nai!
It's a playful double-twist on gender preconceptions. At the heart of the high school band Blau Rosen we have Mizuki, the masculine-seeming and male-dressing guitarist and popular "Prince" of an all-girls school and we have Akira, the girly-cute singer and popular "Princess" of an all boys school. Each is often mistaken for being the opposite gender but they're both heterosexual and quickly realize show more they're in love with each other. This volume is a fun romp of misconceptions and Mizuki's reluctance to admit her feelings.
Warning: the story is rated OT (older teen) for good reason. There are people of both genders who want the protagonists for themselves and aren't above using rape drugs or rape. The volume doesn't contain nudity or anything graphic, but the sexual innuendo and implications of sexual situations are quite clear.
Overall, I found it funny and enjoyable and I look forward to volume 02. show less
