This book celebrates the 50th anniversary of World Vision Australia. It's 116 short articles, mostly based on interviews by Australian journalist, Bryan Patterson. This is, however, not a history. It's the stories of people who have been involved in World Vision. And in a myriad of ways. It's not a story told from the TOP, nor is it just about people at the coalface. And therein lies its value. Patterson brings us a fully rounded view of the people who make this amazing humanitarian agency show more effective. It's a book for reading slowly and occasionally. Take a few stories at a time, and come back to it later.
Disclaimer: I worked for World Vision Australia from 1976-81, and then 85-96. I do get a mention in the book, but it's clearly not a book about me. Just as well, eh?
P.S. The book has no ISBN, so I assume it is self-published by World Vision Australia. show less
