well, supposedly this is a mathematical economics text that uses microeconomics to motivate the math and the "structure" of economics. It's quite well written and especially good if you're weak in your math. Most of it is comparative statics so I honestly find it hard to believe that any grad students would need someone to hold their hands for that kind of techniques. I use it to get alternative perspective.
