The writing is well done, and the units involved are small enough to maintain an interesting narrative. the major officers can be tracked, and this is the most successful volume of official military history I have read. The indexing is good, and the maps are excellent.
Canadian Expeditionary Force, 1914-1919 : official history of the Canadian Army in the First World War by G. W. L. Nicholson
Good official history. Readable, evidently accurate, and without rancour or bias
