I’m not a huge hockey fan, but everyone knows Wayne Gretzky. Obviously this is an older book someone lent me, so it was written while he was still playing, obviously I don’t know where Wayne’s career went after publication, but he seems like a straight shooter with an interesting story to tell. I enjoyed it, possibly more if I were a hockey fan, but it was good.
If you're a hockey lover, you will enjoy this book! It covers the history of the game and how it's developed and changed through the decades. The author's unique experiences and perspectives provide rich insight into every aspect of hockey, from young player development to the psychology of playing in high pressure situations. Many chapters focus on the relationships between players, as well as their coaches, agents and general managers, in addition to the important role parents and families show more play regarding player performance. Learn some fascinating facts about many of hockey's current and future Hall-of-Fame players. The facts and statistics in this book are well researched and documented. I enjoyed watching the author's remarkable career and now, reading about it in this interesting book. show less
