A teen who shared some of her story of abuse was reluctant to pursue therapy. Even though she had insight, she also had fear. I had this book for only a few weeks, and had just finished reading it. I gave it to her, and asked that even if she never read it, that she keep it as a 'lifeline'. A year later she called to say that she was in therapy, and that the book and our conversation about it had given her that courage. She had passed the 'lifeline' on to someone else who had shared a story show more of abuse. show less
