Extremely well done film noir with an excellent performance by O'Brien, who unfortunately isn't as smart as he thinks he is. The finale at Boulder Dam is incredible. This is one of those films that has unbelievable scenery, taking you back to 1950 Los Angeles, then Palm Springs and finally ending at Boulder Dam. O'Brien becomes obsessed with Joanne Dru, the wife of the syndicate 2nd in command, played very cold-bloodedly by Donald Porter, and this proves to be his undoing. He should've stuck show more to his intention to be a man who never falls in love, But with Dru, it's understandable. She's irresistable. The film has a great a great cast, great cinematography, and excellent direction. Highly highly recommended. show less
