As a UU myself, I have often found describing it and its history difficult. I love this book because it offers a collection of wonderful essays which lay out the history and fundamental beliefs of Unitarian Universalism.

If you are curious and want to learn more or if you are a UU that struggles with concise descriptions of your belief system (me for sure) you will probably find this a helpful read!

There is also a great timeline in the back that I found very enlightening!
This books has helped open my mind about Unitarian Universalism. The articles are well-written, the history of the church is properly traced and concisely retold, and the overall premise of the church is best summarized by the following motto: "We are a religion of deeds, not creeds."
This is the best introduction to Unitarian Universalism, better than A Chosen Faith. It gives full attention to UU's whether of theistic, atheistic, or pantheistic faith. Excellent!
