Short biography
Milica Krkovic’s work is marked by her Belgrade nativity and her Rosicrucian belief. She was born June 13, 1964 in a family with several generations of intelectuals and artists. Growing up between the huge library of her family and the magical world of the National Theatre of Serbia, she was protected from the rudeness of materialistic life and from political reality. All the disasters of socialistic regime became obvious to her much later, when she grew up. The image she saw faced with the consequences of the governance of dialectical materialism on the psychology and political and spiritual consciousness, was for her so horrifying, that a wish to show the beautiful side of this world and this life beacame her imperative. So, she left studies of nuclear sciences and started to improve her writting skills at the Department of literature and Serbian language, at Belgrade University. Milica Krkovic has been studying various forms of esoteric heritage and publishing her work in Serbian magazines since the university days. For last eighteen years, she has dedicated herself to Rosicrucianism, in which she has found the golden source she was looking for since her earliest days. She published two books of her own – a collection of seven stories “Sword of the perfect knight” and a novel “Little Book of Creation”. But she is very present on the Serbian stage as author of the various texts on hermetic topics which she writes usually as prefaces for the books she edits as an editor and interpreter. She is also the only author from former Yugoslav republics whose work is put in the catalogues of the hermetic library Bibliotheca Hermetica from Amsterdam. Milica Krkovic also appreciates and cherishes the old art of not writing, but story-telling, because she believes, like the ancient people did, that the magical and healing truth of the words is not in their meaning, but in their vibration, when they are spoken. That’s why she’s very fond on giving lectures on various topics, which are very well received among her audience. She’s also the author of a multi-media festival Counterpoint which is performed in the International Cultural Center in Belgrade, and which represents a connection of her love for her native town and its culture and her hermetic attitude.
