Linear Statistical Inference and Its Application by C. Radhakrishna Rao
This is a truly frightening book. The first chapter is on linear algebra - with loads of material I have not learned before even though I have taken two linear algebra courses and a graduate class in econometrics. The second chapter covers measure theory and probability. Notice that a lot of graduate econometric texts direct readers to this book for proofs. Don't be fooled by the seemingly innocuous title!
