I bought this as a girl in elementary school, and while many of the projects look easy enough and fun to do, I didn't have most of the materials and thus couldn't try many of them. All the styles shown are, appropriately, American and girly. If you have wooden dowels, rickrack ribbon, a collection of Raggedy Ann dolls, and plain lampshades lying around, then go ahead and let this book be you muse.

This book is loaded with great ideas for cleaning and organizing rooms. Though it would be hard to do a total makeover with it, the book has ideas for painting furniture, dressing bed coverings, and making holders for just about every kind of item. These ideas are cute and cover a variety of themes, rather than one specific style, but an adult could help a girl redo her entire room.
