A dark story that serves as a stark reminder to pay what is owed.
This book is about two siblings with a mean step-mother who tricked them and abandoned them in the forest. They both eventually find their way home after a witch tried to eat them. This is the typical folktale that everyone knows of and was a good book to read, i enjoyed it. The grade level for this one would have to be around 3-4th grade.
Fine retelling. Keeps children riveted in the short space.
