A disappointment in comparison to others in this series. Very biased towards Carthage, openly hostile when it comes to the source material (sources are not objective, yes, but there's no need to point this out on every single page).

Those issues aside, the structure is off too. The book is split into two halves, one of them dealing with the political side of the Punic wars, the other with the military aspects. To be blunt, this is confusing and does not work out in any way. You get politics show more and treaties without even a word of the battles that caught them, and in return there are battles which are simply listed without any connections, reasons, or results.

Not worth the time unless you're a big fan of Carthage and already know the history very, very well.
