A slender volume of monochrome photographs of Ulster railways in the 1960s. Informative captions add depth and local knowledge, though the publication date of 2007 means that some more recent history isn't covered. Specifically, there are photographs of the spoil trains that helped in the construction of the M2 motorway in Belfast, and which were the last scheduled services for main-line national railway steam traction in the British Isles, being steam-worked up to May 1970. The photograph show more of one such spoil train in Magheramorne quarry - and others like it - were taken before anyone ever thought that the quarry would become, in 2011, one of the shooting locations for the acclaimed fantasy tv series Game of Thrones! show less
