Seven Series #4
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I really liked this one. Might be my favourite of the series so far. Lorenzo was such a tough, arrogant, pack master. Always getting his way, leading his pack without emotion. I really enjoyed the moments he and Ivy shared, even in the other books. She didn’t cower to his dominating attitude. She made him work for what he wanted, and made him want to work for it. Their intimate moments felt show more intimate. I LOVED when he rubs noses with Ivy… sigh… makes him seem like a sweet caring man.. Not just an unemotional pack master.
Ivy was a strong leading lady. I really liked her quiet way. She’s firm but fair, honest and courageous. Her backstory was interesting, and emotional. I am very glad she got her HEA. Her attitude towards Lorenzo cracked me up sometimes, their banter was wonderful and I felt their sparks right from the first moment they met.
I still love Denver, can’t wait for his story. He’s a bag of nuts! Haha! I just looked ahead at what comes next in the series… Naya and Wheeler.. Wow.. this should be interesting!
As always Nicole Poole did a wonderful job Narrating. She’s kept the same voices/accents etc throughout the series and I can easily tell who is talking. Even coming up with different ones for the newest characters.

I had only read one of Danikka Dark's previous books and really enjoyed it, but for some reason I have not jumped into anything else of hers. When she reached out to me to see if I would be interested in reviewing her new book KEYSTONE, I looked it up and decided it sounded interesting enough that I wanted to give it a try. I wasn't aware that the Crossbreed series is a spin-off of the Mageri series until after I was done reading it, but I didn't feel like I was missing anything, so if you show more are new to Dannika Dark's books, I say jump right in.
Raven comes off tough, independent, bad-ass and confident, but you quickly realize she is really lonely, has plenty of flaws and she has a vulnerable side to her as well. When she has the chance to join Keystone, she is both apprehensive and excited. Her time there is anything but smooth and proving herself to be part of the team is harder than she expected. Raven is the main character, but let me tell you, all the other characters are just as entertaining and part of the story as her. Each team member brings their own unique skill set to the team and without one, the others couldn't do everything that they do. I loved watching them work together and I really felt that they were a family.
There isn't really any romance in KEYSTONE, but there is a connection that I wish would have been explored more. Raven and Christian had a love-hate relationship that could totally be a hot romance if they were allowed to explore things. I have to say that them not being able to and Raven not wanting to in the end really bummed me out. On the other hand, this character came off as a really big asshole sometimes and a man slut on top of that, so maybe it's a good thing? I guess we will find out in future books.
I will totally be reading more of the Crossbreed series. I enjoyed everything from the characters to the world and the story line. I look forward to watching them all grow and I think I might jump into some of Dannika's backlist books as well.

Sigh....What can I say. I love the Cole brothers but I have to say that Austin is my favorite. I have never read a Dannika Dark book so when the book turned out to be paranormal I was pleasantly surprised. I adore paranormal romance novels so this was definitely up my alley. I really felt for Alexia & her family. You could feel the bond they have & it was touching how dedicated she was to them. Austin & Alexia's relationship was so sweet & frustrating all at one. There wer many times I show more wanted to smack him upside the head & say open your eyes fool. All in all this was a solid story with great characters. I can't wait to read what comes next for Austin, Alexia & the rest of those hot Cole men. show less
It should come as no shock to absolutely anyone at all that I loved the newest addition to the Crossbreed series. Let’s be honest, I knew I would love Moonstruck going in, and I definitely was not disappointed.
There’s just something about the way that Dark world builds and writes her characters that just feels so authentic. I was hesitant when she started introducing different perspectives, as sometimes jumping pov can be a little jarring and overcomplicates an otherwise good narrative. show more But the approach she takes gives the reader the chance to catch up on what’s happening elsewhere whilst very much cementing in place and maintaining that Raven is still our protagonist. Dark’s just giving us a peek at the Keystone family.
And what a nice addition that is! I’ve been rooting for some of the secondary romances for a while, and getting to see those develop on a completely different way than in her previous series is super refreshing! Don’t get me wrong, the Seven series remains one of my favourites, but switching protagonists isn’t something that would work for this series, and Darks handles that so well. It works on both a plot and narrative level, and you’ve got to love that kind of writing. We all know that for the most part in any kind of fiction, readers or viewers like to watch characters getting together, but get quickly bored once they cement a relationship. Moonstruck leaves no room for the reader to feel bored, through the banter of our main couple, the slow burn of the secondary relationships, and the addition of new and fully fleshed our characters!
And all this set within such a short time scale, without over cluttering the plot? It’s great writing folks!
Basically I’m obsessed with Dannika Dark and everything she writes, and can wholeheartedly recommend this and any/all or her other works. Seriously, check out Moonstruck if you haven’t already. show less
