There have been few creators who have had stellar runs on Fantastic Four, but Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo had one of the best. Their issues were fun, exciting, sad, thrilling and always surprising. Waid captured the essence of the team in a way few creators have making for one of the best runs of any comic Marvel has ever published.
This run has a good reputation and doesn’t disappoint. It feels cartoonier, which isn’t a bad thing, and there were times I chuckled aloud.
I prefer when the FF stick to sci-fi so the Doom storyline isn’t my favorite. I also thought the heavenly cameo was a bit much.
Plus, despite the names on the title there is a lot of non-Weringo material.
