- Lauren Tobia always enjoyed drawing as a child. When she grew up she worked as an intensive care nurse for many years before taking a degree in illustration at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Anna Hibiscus is her first children's book. Lauren lives in Bristol with her husband, two daughters and a greyhound called Mickey. [from Anna Hibiscus (2010)]
